Help! I want to make my home more energy efficient but have no idea where to start
Posted by Gilly Jones on 17 February 2014 at 9:21 am
Our inbox here at YouGen has made it pretty clear to us that many of you would like to make your homes warmer, cosier and cheaper to run, but just don’t know where to start, or that you have taken the first steps but aren’t sure what should do next.
Well, help is at hand. We have teamed up with Parity Projects to offer its superb Home Energy Masterplan. If you want specific advice, tailored to your property and your goals, (and are happy to pay for it) then a masterplan will help you identify what will have the greatest impact and the best order to do things in.
“I know from my own experience that Parity Projects does a great job," said YouGen founder Cathy Debenham. "Our 1950s chalet bungalow has some tricky areas for insulation (which the green deal assessment missed). The house is noticeably warmer since we followed the advice in our Home Energy Masterplan. Because Chris from Parity Projects explained it really clearly, we were able to save money by doing it ourselves."
“If you want to put together a long term plan on how to improve the energy efficiency of your property, with advice about what order to do it in, and you want an assessment that is tailored to your priorities, then it's definitely worth paying for a Home Energy Masterplan and getting a thorough assessment from a specialist.”
Prices for the Home Energy Masterplan start at £250* including VAT and you can find out more here.
* Parity Projects are partners of YouGen which means that if you complete the enquiry form and buy a Home Energy Masterplan, we will get a small commission. This helps pay the running costs of the YouGen website.
