Vote now for your favourite Marks and Spencer Community Energy Fund project

Posted by Gabby Mallett on 9 September 2015 at 12:20 pm

Would you like to see local community groups benefiting from renewable energy? If your answer is yes then why not log on to the Marks and Spencer Community Grants site and vote for a project near you.  Or perhaps vote for a project which you think is particularly inspirational.  Projects are all over the country, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find something of interest.

Marks and Spencer is offering grants for community energy projects.  There are regional grants of £12,500 and national grants of £20,000 and £40,000.  There’s also a £15,000 judges award for the most inspiring project. Altogether Marks and Spencer is making £400,000 available for the Community Energy Fund which is part of their ethical and ecological programme.

Projects range from biomass to hydro and heat pumps to photovoltaics, but what they all have in common is support within the local community.  There are community venues, schools, mobile demonstration vehicles and much more.

Voting is already open and the winners will be announced in early October, so get voting. See the M&S Energy Fund for details.
