M&S fund to bring £350k to community energy projects - deadline 31 May 2016

Posted by Alex Barrett on 3 May 2016 at 12:10 pm

The Marks and Spencer Community Energy Fund has reopened for a second year. This scheme is intended to fund community energy projects across the UK. £350,000 will be split between a variety of renewable energy projects in different regions of the UK. The fund is open to not for profit organisations and community groups. Last year 21 community groups won awards, which can be up to £12,500 in each region.

The statement announcing the fund states that this is part of the “continued commitment from M&S Energy to enable more communities in the UK to generate renewable energy and become environmentally and financially sustainable.”

If you represent a community group or charity that would like to apply for the scheme you can do so at the M&S energy website. The scheme has opened as of 3 May 2016, and the deadline for applications is 31 May 2016.
