Community Energy Fortnight 2016 will spotlight September events

Posted by Gabby Mallett on 20 July 2016 at 1:40 pm

Are you involved in community energy? Would you like to be? Or perhaps you would just like to find out more about it.

The fourth Community Energy Fortnight is happening somewhere near you from 3 -18 September. There are already some pretty exciting events planned across the country, from a festival in Loughborough, to a social event in Manchester, a hydro open day in Derbyshire, an electrical vehicle day in Shropshire, an energetic transition walk in Totnes, and networking and drinks events in London and, of course, SuperHomes events across the country.

If you don’t want to join in with someone else’s event, but would like to plan your own, then  the Community Energy Fortnight website is the place to go. You can find advice and guidance on setting up events, promoting them and getting media coverage for them. Events could be as casual as a meet up of volunteers for a drink in pub, or a discussion group, or perhaps a few hours where people can come and have a look around your project.

And if you are into social media you can follow progress on Twitter or post your own event details: Twitter @CEFortnight and tag your posts #CEF16.

For more information see the Community Energy Fortnight website. You can even look at the first batch of confirmed events, before you plan your own.
