A MACKMURDIE Ltd was formed and established in 1953 by Arthur Mackmurdie, my father, as a family business and is now run by myself and my wife Jill. It has seen many changes over the years from solid fuel to natural gas but we are now committed to the use of Biomass and Solar water heating, this knowledge and experience has allowed me to integrate different forms of heating, primarily biomass and solar but allowing for the inclusion of gas and solid fuel.

The Company’s mission is to provide a design, supply, installation and back up service which is second to none for our customers together with comprehensive advice on all forms of Biomass, Solid Fuel, Gas, and Solar water heating and also on energy efficiency (Part L) allowing customers to reduce fuel bills along with making a positive effect on the environment.

We are main agents for HDG Bavaria log, chip and pellet boilers as well as being able to supply Baxi and KOB boilers. Also Solar systems for Viessmann, Worcester and Vaillant and ground & air source heat pumps from Vaillant & Viessmann.

We continually strive and endeavour to improve our services by ensuring that all staff are well informed and trained and to only have associations with other like minded and professional companies to enhance our ability to ensure the quality of the products we are able to supply and the quality of our workmanship and service.

We are HETAS, Gas Safe and CORGI registered which enables us to obtain the latest information on technology in the heating industry plus being able to self certify our work rather than using building control which saves time and money for our customers. We are accredited installers for the Microgeneration Scheme allowing our customers to apply for grants on some biomass and solar systems and we are proud to be approved by Trading Standards on their Buy with Confidence Scheme.

Site visits and quotes: We will take as much information as possible during a phone conversation with regard to clients requirements & expectations and in turn give as much information & advice as to the possible suitability of the products we offer & give a guide as to prices. We always make a site visit & carry out a survey, we do not charge for this service but for calls made outside a 50 mile radius of our Bideford office we will make a charge for fuel used, at cost which is refundable on order.

After sales service: All clients are given a comprehensive pack containing operating & programming information & we will spend as much time with them to ensure they are comfortable with the operational & maintenance requirements of the systems we install. We are on hand to give advice either over the phone or if necessary on site & we offer full annual service and/or back up.

Grants available: We are accredited by the Building Research Establishment Ltd (BRE) for both Biomass & Solar allowing us to offer clients grants through the Microgeneration Certification Scheme Phase 1 for domestic clients and Phase 2 for public sector buildings (including Schools, Hospitals, Housing Associations & Local Authority) and charitable bodies.
