Biomass
Gordon worked in the agricultural industry for many years, with interests in both food production and alternative land use. This led to him becoming a founder member of TRECO.
The company was set up to provide biomass heating systems which not only use virgin wood chip and pellets as a fuel source, but also other biomass products such as rape straw pellets, recycled wood chip and pellets, cereals and energy crops such as myscanthus and canary reed grass.
Gordon believes passionately that policymakers should do more to ensure the rural environment is able to provide a balance of food and energy production, as well as wildlife diversity and recreational access.
