Solar PV. I have 2.16kW peak which have produced 1500 kWh (units so far in 8.5 months including the worst ofthe winter. Very pleased. Have a multifuel burner that eliminated GCH use in winter. Huge savings. Penalty is collecting and cutting sufficient wood. It's too expensive to buy. Want a wind turbine but regret there is probably insufficient wind.

Shred paper waste and buy a paper log maker. I haven't burned any yet but feedback from people who have is (generally) positive. An hour/week produces 20 logs. Take ages to dry so best made in the summer for winter use or made all year round if you have the space to store them for long periods to dry.
