I am just at the beginning of my "investment" into Solar PV so jury is still out. However, I was pleased to see that, even though it was quite overcast this morning (13.10.2010) I was still generating about 800KW at about 9.30am. My system has a capacity of about 3.9KW from the panels gross. (i.e. not allowing for loss in converting to AC.)
I am a Chartered Surveyor specialising in residential building surveys - mainly for purchasers. I also carry out residential design work - i.e. extensions and occasional new build.
With renewable energy becoming more and more popular (particularly due to government grants etc) it was important for me to learn more about it. In going through this process I decided to install a solar pv system and hope to install an air source heat pump to power my hot waterr and central heating shortly - currently waiting to see whether the government will commit to the planned "renewable heat incentive"
