Solar PV panels and an Air to Air Heat pump. ( I'm not sure if the heat pump really counts as renewable ) . Our energy consumption peaked in 2008/9 at 18876 Kwhrs, ( but we had building work at the time ) and last year we used 6947 kwhrs. This year we will almost certainly use even less.
We recently became superhome 150. We have lived in our house ( an end of terrace ) for 30+ years now and added our first additional layer of loft insulation about 30yrs ago and followed it 2 years later by cavity wall insulation. More recently we have added a thrird layer of loft insulation, upgraded our double glazing and added some internal insulation. 2.5 years ago we installed Solar PV panels and our latest project was to install an air to air heat pump. Our lights are mainly LED with the odd CFL and 2 little used old fashioned bulbs.
