I have PVs and Solar hot water. Both work well. My solar hot water had gone wrong and to put it right was a nightmare until I found Solstice Energy at an information evening in Ashtead, Surrey. They not only put everything right, but treated me as a reasonably intelligent person, explaining to me the various points of the installation.
There seems to be a real need for a register of people with expertise who could come and sevice or repair these solar devices.
There is also, according to our local paper, total disregard of the need to become more energy self sufficient in this country. Our local planners are demanding that PVs on private houses that are visible from the road need to be taken down. Where is our government to tell them what to do? Is it now enoughj that someone spends their savings on this kind of installation? Planners should look at continental houses and see how far they have come, never mind that the panels can be seen from the roadside.
