The solar electricity in conjunction with Immersun have been a game changer. We no longer rely on the use of gas for heating water in the summer months. The immersun diverts the generated electricity meant for export to heating up the water in the boiler.
The solar thermal system has however been a problem as we are unable to find a knowledgeable person to service and ensure it is performing at optimum.
I am a pensioner.
My wife and I have always been interested in renewables and installed thermal solar, solar electricity, A-rated worcester greenstar immersion boiler system, immersun, burley wood/coal multi fuel stove, double glazing, wall and loft insulation, energy saving bulbs, water harvesting and invested in water softening system for the house.
It is important to be able to monitor your solar electricity generation- knowing when you are exporting and when you are importing electricity from the grid. This has helped us to monitor when to use electricity for cooking, mowing and trimming hedges. The Immersun has ensured that most of the electricity generated is utilised for heating.
