General review of your supplier

As part of our new build , we decided to invest in a GSHP with ground loop collector.  After a lot of research, I decided on Danfoss and, as they also were installing PV, asked Sungift to quote. It turned out that the specific GSHP model I wanted wasn't yet launched or MCS-approved, but the equivalent model from Thermia (part of Danfoss group) was.  The installation didn't go as well as the PV with several parts being delayed, The UK/Irish distributor helped Sungift with commissioning and the system now works well.

What would you have liked to know before you asked suppliers to quote

When investing in multiple renewable technologies, you expect them to work together - but this is not as simple as it sounds.  In the past, the GSHP has tended to operate overnight (consuming mains electricity) rather than during the day when there is plenty of spare PV power.  Sungift has given me additional advice on how to adjust seeting to avoid this problem.  We're currently experimenting to see if this works and I will report back later but I wish I'd thought through these details eariler!
